Introducing the Palladian Circle!

Event, Uncategorized

Drayton Hall recently sponsored the first event for the Palladian Circle, a new organization for young professionals who are interested in being directly involved with Drayton Hall’s preservation and fundraising efforts.  Kate Nevin, a steering committee member, has been onboard since the organization’s conception.  Below, she tells us why she chose to join the Palladian Circle…

“Every person I have met at Drayton Hall is so passionate and knowledgeable about the house, the grounds, and the history of the place.  I joined the Palladian Circle because of the wonderful people who work to preserve Drayton Hall – George, Monte, Craig, and Carter.  It is a pleasure to spend time with them, not to mention the house itself.  It is inspiring to behold!  The experience takes you back in time when you see the beauty of successful preservation, each room and period telling a story.  The house is a manifestation of everything we hold dear: history, family, preservation, and conservation.

Drayton Hall is part of the Charleston community working with schools, (students from Charleston County elementary schools to the American College of the Building Arts) and other nonprofit organizations that share Drayton’s mission such as, the Coastal Conservation League and Historic Charleston Foundation.  People preserve what they love and it all starts with education.  This group is not just a ‘young professional networking group,’ our mission is to support, inspire and educate.  It is these goals that most appeal to me.”

The Palladian Circle is a dedicated group of young professionals who promote and support Drayton Hall’s mission of preservation, education, and inspiration through fundraising efforts, ongoing education, and community advocacy.

Steering Committee Members: Leize Gaillard, Carter Hudgins, Matthew Cochrane-Logan
