On Friday, June 21, 2019 at 12:30 pm, join Curator Cameron Moon in the  new Caretaker’s House Gallery at Drayton Hall to discuss the family which resided in the Caretaker’s House and story related through the sixteen layers of wallpaper recovered from the walls of the house by the preservation staff in 2014. The Caretaker’s House was originally constructed next to Drayton Hall and was moved in 1974 when Drayton Hall was sold to the National Trust. Initial preservation work began at that time to refuction the structure as a gift shop for the site. In 2014, in preparation for it to become a galery dedicated to the post-bellum era at Drayton Hall, full-scale preservation was undertaken on the structure, at that time the door trim was lifted and beneath lay a story all on its own.

Drayton Hall’s Weekly Curator Gallery Talk Series is presented on Fridays at 12:30 pm. These talks are included in your admission and membership. This is a wonderful weekly opportunity to hear the stories we are not able to fit on to the walls of our galleries. No reservations are required, simply meet in the Gallery.
